The basic idea behind the project and our intentions
We'd like to go now a little into the details about the idea behind our projects and we'd like to emphasize that these are our subjective points of view, and we don't want to generalize them.
The journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. It is with this vision that we have ventured to give our helping hands to the very needy children of Nepal, the children who were otherwise destined to suffer a life of non-entity and non-existence. These children are usually cast in the street or rendered helpless for multiple reasons of social, family or physical discriminations and obligations.
Human beings live not only by breads, vitamins and technological discoveries. They live by values and realities which are above time and are worth knowing for their own sake. Education is the only way to reach this end of knowing.
In the present world of globalization where the overwhelming slogan has remained to liberate children, women and men from the imminent threat of hunger, disease and ignorance on one hand where as on the other the actual picture of their world has not been changed to the expectation of those recipients of development. Poor countries are facing ecological catastrophes like flooding, drought and desertification. Therefore the majority of people do not profit from the blessings of the civilized world, it is through development aid that the third world will become a large market for the products which the industrial metropoles have designed for themselves. "Be-like-us" kind of development strategy from the donors is another threat faced by the poorer nations. The people definitely are looking for change not in the name of "another development" but the development "from within". The viscous circle of poverty pervades the entire underdeveloped nations and there is never the effective measure to alleviate it but has added much to the "development of underdevelopment". Thus the gap between the development and underdevelopment is on the increase.
How can this gap be bridged? Let us join our mission of reducing ignorance and transforming our children into the enlightened future of tomorrow full of life and vigour. Let us give them a true art of living, a meaning to their life and a life to their dreams.
We are not only going to create a wonder-land flourished with the dreams of children but also to help their dreams bring to fruition. Let us not rob them of their childhood, their rights for education and their rights for choice upon their overall development.
We are always committed to develop a society based on the ideals of quality, fraternity, justice and liberty, an international outlook through the perspective of ethical, moral and spiritual values where the advancement of science and technology gets converged with the progressing mind and spirit of the children.
Rationalization, socialization, vocationalisation and ultimately the universalisation of education are the factors required to bring about a renaissance in this transitional phase of Nepalese society. Our education will be totally focussed on a rational approach of teaching.
For us discipline is social and the whole of life is the curriculum. All members of the society can play the roles of teachers according to situation and education continues not only in the school but also throughout life; at every stage of childhood, youth and adulthood.
There is no only one all-embracing solution to these problems as they are entangled into the sophisticated fabric of anthropocentrism and vanity of nations and individuals. Development is an ongoing process. Let us be a true change agent for building the future of those in need and work not only for them but with them. This will bring a far-reaching change in our actual practice of development, it is the only yardstick and a new beginning of a new horizon made possible through education.
